For an elegant world traveler inspired by her journeys throughout Europe, a contemporary flat was commissioned to reflect her eclectic design aesthetic. Her love of interesting textures and exuberant colors ensured that she was an active and enthusiastic participant in the entire design process from inception to completion.
French windows immediately replaced all the standard ones, and a rustic brick wall was sourced to be the main focal point of the home. Stylish and welcoming, a bold, vibrant patchwork sofa enlivens the living room and invites guests to sit and stay a while. High quality flooring reminiscent of a rough unfinished wood surface runs throughout the space, providing a natural contrast to the plush surroundings.
An avid cook, the owner wanted to expand the kitchen and combine it with the dining area for an open, shared experience with an overall cohesive feel. This new layout pairs well stylistically and functionally with her love of entertaining lifestyle.
A soothing combination of warm Tuscan burnt oranges and mustard yellows was incorporated into the master bedroom’s walls and soft furnishings to evoke a sense of calm and relaxation. Captivating artwork and sculptures from all over the world provide meaningful personal touches. A walk-in closet (every girl’s dream!) was added as a luxurious finishing touch. The master bathroom was enlarged and sheathed in classic white British subway tiles, while a unique, charcoal grey hexagon mosaic “tile carpet” elevates the bathroom from the ordinary.
